Last week, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) released a statement condemning X, formerly known as Twitter, for running a transphobic platform-wide campaign.

On November 2, X ran a sponsored "timeline takeover" content from PragerU, a conservative organization that created a documentary on transgender people.

The documentary was filled with false information about trans people, creating even more hateful rhetoric on the platform. PragerU admitted that YouTube rejected the same proposal it gave X "almost immediately upon submission," according to the Washington Times.

This transphobic timeline takeover comes one year after LGBTQ+ users of X say the platform has become toxic because users are allowed to deadname and misgender transgender people without consequences, and because the platform profits from anti-LGBTQ content, according to NBC News.

In its statement, HRC released a complete list of facts addressing each piece of misinformation in the documentary. Read the list of facts here.
